A few readers have asked why I haven’t been providing D2 Club updates this year on a regular basis. Honestly I had kind of given up as very few clubs have updated website (or a website at all) and finding scores/updates etc proved to be a waste of my time.

BUT since you guys asked for it, I am going to try. If you have any scores, updates etc, please let me know. Also make sure your team is listed on The Rugby Directory!

NOTE: USAR has no information for this tournament yet on the site so the seeds are NOT finalized! I’m basically guessing based off last years results. I am not sure if NRU will receive 2 seeds, that is what has happened in the past though.

In a rather abrupt and exciting move this year, USA Rugby decided to go ahead and pick up the Women’s D2 Championship for 2010. Most of us thought they weren’t picking it up until 2011…but yea for 2010! That being said there are few details and lots of confusion out there. I have several emails out confirming seedings, match days etc. We do know that the D2 Championships will be played alongside the Women’s Premier and Club D1 on Nov 11-13 in Mesa, AZ.

I will post more info as I get it, but here is what I have gathered:

Along with the WPL and Div 1 Club the Div 2 Club Championships will also be the weekend of Nov 7-8, 2009 in Houston, TX.

Saturday
Game 1: 10:00am Charleston (Seed 4) vs Orlando (Seed 1)
Game 2: 12:00pm Miami (Seed 2) vs Memphis (Seed 3)

UPDATED: Sunday’s Schedule:
10am: Memphis vs. Charleston
12pm: Miami vs. Orlando

Congratulations to Charleston for taking their rugby to the next level. Welcome to the Championships!
